Marine/Shipyards

Anyone living near a body of salt water can testify to the corrosive qualities of just salt air; imagine what continuous exposure and immersion in salt water does to the steel hulls and superstructures of commercial and military ships. The Navy has recognized it as a $3B a year problem. Cleaning and blasting any steel marine vessels is a never ending process and it’s a growing concern for the military. Being able to control media blast operations more closely is critical for shipyard operations which are monitored for environmental impact regularly. The efficiency of steel grit in preparing steel surfaces to the right finish for re-coating is widely known, especially because it can be reused more than a hundred times – IF you can recover, decontaminate and preserve it for reuse. But damp or restricted shipyard environments have sometimes prevented its use. The ROTO Grit Dryer™machine changes that. Recovering steel grit from the ground in a shipyard, then completely drying it for recycling and reuse resolves the environmental problem and allows contractors to benefit from the many advantages of using steel grit.
